HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Authorities have arrested a second individual connected to the tragic death of an 8-year-old child in the Highlands area.

On August 27, Harris County Sheriff’s Office detectives charged 15-year-old Kara Walker with Injury to a Child – Serious Bodily Injury. Walker, who is the victim’s older sister, was taken into custody by the Violent Criminals Apprehension Team (VCAT) and booked into the Harris County Jail.

Earlier in March, Nolan Stallings, Walker’s boyfriend, was arrested and charged with the same offense. Investigators believe the abuse occurred at a home on the 100 block of Greendell.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed the investigation into the child’s death remains ongoing. Officials are urging anyone with additional information to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office as detectives continue to gather evidence.

The case underscores the dangers of child abuse and the importance of community vigilance in protecting vulnerable children.
