In Loving Memory of Zaria Miller 🕊️

It is with broken hearts that we share the devastating loss of Zaria Miller, a young girl whose life was tragically cut short in a heartbreaking accident.

According to reports, Zaria was swept into a storm drain after a water main break caused powerful flooding in Sarasota County. The force of the water carried her through the drainage system for nearly 100 yards. She was rescued and rushed to All Children’s Hospital in critical condition, but despite every effort to save her, Zaria has now received the ultimate healing and rests in the arms of Jesus.

WFLA reports that the road near the incident was closed as Sarasota County Public Utilities contractors worked overnight to repair the damaged section of Bahia Vista Street. The water main break also led to a boil water notice affecting several dozen residents.

The Miller family has expressed their deep gratitude for the overwhelming love, prayers, and support they’ve received during this difficult time. They are now facing unimaginable grief as they plan for Zaria’s funeral and attempt to navigate life without their precious daughter.

A fundraiser has been established to help cover Zaria’s medical and funeral expenses, as well as the family’s monthly bills and immediate needs. Should donations exceed those expenses, the family has pledged to give the remaining funds to pediatric charities in Zaria’s memory — a way of ensuring her light continues to shine through helping other children.

Zaria will forever be remembered for the love and joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and community, who mourn this tragic loss while holding on to the hope of seeing her again.
