ST. THOMAS, VI — Maireni Heredia Tiburcio, 42, was tragically found dead Friday morning at the Galleon House Hotel after sustaining at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. Emergency responders confirmed Tiburcio had no vital signs upon arrival, and she was pronounced dead at the scene around 12:26 p.m.

Central Dispatch received reports of an unresponsive female at approximately 11:48 a.m. on August 29. Police officers responding to the scene discovered Tiburcio with visible injuries, prompting a full investigation by the Virgin Islands Police Department’s Major Crimes Division.
