Norfolk Man, 20, Killed in High-Speed Pursuit Crash on Brambleton Boulevard

NORFOLK, Va. — A high-speed pursuit ended in tragedy early Friday morning when a motorcyclist crashed in Norfolk, authorities confirmed.

According to Virginia State Police, the incident began at approximately 1:24 a.m. when a trooper attempted to stop a motorcycle traveling at more than 100 mph on I-264 near the Laskin Road overpass. The rider refused to stop and continued fleeing at speeds reaching 140 mph, running multiple red lights as he headed into Norfolk.

The pursuit came to a devastating end near Brambleton Boulevard and Cecelia Street, where the motorcycle crashed head-on into a concrete wall. The rider, identified as 20-year-old Christian Robert Markus Snyder of Norfolk, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities confirmed no other vehicles were involved in the crash. Virginia State Police’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is handling the investigation.

Officials are reminding the public of the extreme dangers of fleeing from law enforcement and the irreversible consequences of high-speed pursuits. Snyder’s death marks another tragic reminder of how quickly reckless driving decisions can turn fatal.
