Roberto Barraza Obituary, Death; A 37-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a collision that occurred in Long Beach on Saturday night, and the driver of an SUV has been arrested on charges of DUI and vehicular manslaughter, according to authorities.

The incident took place at approximately 9:01 p.m. on August 30 at the intersection of 11th Street and Redondo Avenue, as reported by Long Beach Police. Investigators indicated that a 2010 KTM motorcycle was traveling south on Redondo when it collided with a 2006 Toyota Sequoia that was heading east on 11th Street, at the intersection with Redondo.

Long Beach Fire crews arrived at the scene; however, the motorcyclist was declared dead at the location. Although initial reports from Long Beach Fire suggested that the rider was female, police later identified the victim as Roberto Barraza, 37, from Long Beach.

Authorities stated that impairment is being examined as a potential contributing factor. The driver of the Sequoia, identified as Frank Andrade Jr., 33, also from Long Beach, remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. He was subsequently arrested and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter, with bail set at $101,781.
