Denny Garrett,Mujahid Abdur-Rahman Obituary, Death; – The Cleveland Division of Police (CDP) is currently investigating two fatal incidents that occurred during the Labor Day weekend.
On Sunday afternoon, at around 2:44 p.m., officers from the CDP’s Fourth District responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 3300 block of East 142nd Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered a 39-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds.
The officers initiated first aid measures until Cleveland EMS arrived, who subsequently transported the victim to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office (CCMEO) has identified the victim as Mujahid Abdur-Rahman.
According to the CDP’s statement, “Preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was approached by two unidentified males while he was working on a vehicle, shots were fired, and the suspects fled the scene on foot.”
Authorities have stated that the fatal shooting of Abdur-Rahman is an “active investigation being conducted by the Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit.”
Additionally, the CCMEO has reported that a 54-year-old man from Cleveland died due to a suspected homicide on Friday.
Denny Garrett was transported by EMS from the 5500 block of Mound Avenue to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
