Indian Creek Drowning: Body of Girl Recovered From Indian Creek in Kuna, ID

KUNA, Idaho — The Water Rescue team recovered the body of a female from the Indian Creek in Kuna on Monday. Law enforcement says a girl was removed from the water after a drowning incident.

The incident reported as a possible entrapment excalated to recovery after rescue say the victim was in the water for over 30 minutes. After heroic attempts by first responders, rescues, and the fire service, the girls’ body was located and removed two hours later.What began as a Labor Day water rescue along Indian Creek tragically shifted into a recovery mission after a woman was found pinned beneath a rock, according to officials.

The incident was first reported around 4:10 p.m. on Monday, September 1, when emergency crews responded to Indian Creek near Thistle Drive. Witnesses saw first responders throwing safety lines into the water as crews prepared to enter the creek.

At 6:33 p.m., the Kuna Rural Fire District issued an urgent notice warning residents not to float the creek and instructing those already in the water to exit at Bernie Fisher Park near Swan Falls Road.

Multiple agencies, including Kuna Fire, Meridian Fire, Boise Fire, and Eagle Fire, assisted in the rescue effort.

By 7:30 p.m., the Kuna Rural Fire District confirmed that rescue operations had concluded and restrictions on floating the creek were lifted. Officials later confirmed that the situation had become a recovery operation, as the female victim had been underwater for an extended period of time after being pinned by a rock.
