Kristy Denise Harrison Obituary, Death; – Authorities have disclosed the identity of a woman who was fatally shot when gunfire erupted at a residence in Tarrant over the weekend.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased as Kristy Denise Harrison, a 35-year-old resident of Birmingham.

Harrison was attending a holiday weekend gathering on Saturday when, at approximately 10:40 p.m., an individual drove past the residence and unleashed a barrage of gunfire into a house located in the 1400 block of Ford Avenue. Harrison sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:49 p.m.

According to investigators, Harrison was not the intended target. Police Chief Wendell Major stated that investigators suspect a dispute between two women regarding a vehicle led to threats and gunfire directed at the home earlier that day, around 4 p.m., during which no injuries were reported.

The suspect or suspects returned several hours later and opened fire on the residence, Major indicated.

The shooter or shooters fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

Major confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with this incident.

Harrison marks Tarrant’s second homicide of the year.
