Riley Pawlick Arrested; Court records identify teen suspect in deadly Harriman shooting

Riley Pawlick Arrested; Court documents have detailed some of the circumstances that resulted in the shooting death of an 18-year-old in Harriman over the weekend, including the suspect’s identity.

The case revolves around 17-year-old Riley Pawlick, who faces charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, and tampering with evidence.

As per a court petition, the shooting occurred around 4 a.m. on Saturday. The petition describes the findings of the police upon their arrival after being alerted about the shooting at the Domino’s Pizza located at 701 N. Roane St. Previously, District Attorney Russell Johnson indicated that the incident took place at the Mr. Clean establishment situated behind the Domino’s.
The petition states that officers from the Harriman Police Department intercepted a vehicle traveling on Highway 27, discovering another individual along with Pawlick inside.

“[The other individual] was interviewed and stated that he and Riley Pawlick had attended a party in a garage behind the Domino’s in Harriman,” the petition noted. “During the party, [the individual] heard a gunshot, looked around, and observed Riley holding a handgun. [The individual] then entered his black 2013 Ford Focus, and Riley Pawlick took the passenger seat before they departed.”

While driving, the petition indicates that Pawlick discarded a handgun from a bridge. This firearm was equipped with an extended magazine, a light, and rubber bands on the handle, according to the petition.

Simultaneously, two individuals—18-year-old Holden Howse and another person, Terre Lee—were taken to the Roane County Medical Center. The petition reported that Lee sustained a cut across his face, while Howse succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Following the investigation, the petition revealed that police gathered additional information regarding the events.

Lee informed the police that he had heard a gunshot after Pawlick aimed the weapon at him. He also mentioned seeing Howse lying on the ground following the gunshot.

Other witnesses reported to the police that Lee and Pawlick had engaged in an argument, during which Pawlick brandished the gun, loaded it, and struck Lee with it. The weapon subsequently discharged, the petition stated, striking Howse.

The investigation remains ongoing.
