Stefhany Reconco-Rosales Obituary, Death; – A driver involved in a hit-and-run incident, accused of causing the death of a woman over the weekend in northwest Miami-Dade, was apprehended on Monday, according to deputies.

Edwin Serrano, aged 46, faces charges for leaving the scene of a fatal crash, as reported by officials from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office indicated that the event occurred shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Sunday in the vicinity of the 3400 block of Northwest 32nd Avenue.

An arrest report detailed that Serrano was operating his 2017 Cadillac Escalade in the outer northbound lane of 32nd Avenue when the victim was walking eastward on the southern side of Northwest 35th Street.

As the victim continued her walk, she was hit by the Cadillac and was propelled onto the roadway, according to the report.

Deputies noted that surveillance footage from the area recorded Serrano’s vehicle momentarily slowing down, accelerating, and subsequently fleeing the scene.
The victim, identified as 26-year-old Stefhany Reconco-Rosales, was located by rescue teams and transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.

As the investigation into the deadly hit-and-run progressed, deputies discovered Serrano’s Cadillac in Miami, as stated in the report.

The report also mentioned that Serrano later arrived at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he voluntarily surrendered.

During a discussion with deputies, Serrano exercised his right to legal counsel and declined to provide a statement, as noted in the arrest report.

He was subsequently taken into custody.
