The community of Callahan, Florida, is mourning the unexpected and heartbreaking passing of Valerie Mosley, whose sudden death has left her family, friends, and loved ones devastated. Valerie’s vibrant spirit, warmth, and generosity touched countless lives, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.

Valerie lived in Callahan and was known not only as a devoted mother but also as a creative soul, remembered for her positivity and the light she brought into every space she entered. On May 22, 2019, she welcomed her son, Memphis Blaze DeVore, who weighed 8 lbs. 14 oz. and measured 21 ½ inches at birth. Becoming a mother was one of the greatest joys of Valerie’s life, and she poured her love and energy into raising Memphis with care, laughter, and boundless devotion.

Friends and family describe Valerie as someone who was always there when needed—compassionate, uplifting, and filled with a natural ability to connect with others. She embraced life fully, inspiring those around her to find joy in both ordinary and extraordinary moments. Whether through her role as a digital creator, her friendships, or her family life, Valerie touched the hearts of many.

In remembrance of her life, a memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 30th, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at Riverfront Park, 4065 SR-13 N, Saint Johns, Florida, 32259. Food and drinks will be provided, and the event is open to anyone who knew and loved Valerie. This memorial offers an opportunity for friends and the wider community to gather, share stories, and celebrate her life. Her funeral service will remain private, limited to immediate family, but this gathering will ensure that everyone touched by Valerie’s kindness and friendship can pay their respects.

The memorial is being coordinated by Kaylee Wirtz, who shared that it was important to create a space where friends could come together to honor Valerie. This gesture reflects the wide impact Valerie had on those around her and the way she brought people together in life.

Valerie’s passing is a painful reminder of how precious and fragile life can be. Yet, her memory continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished moments, especially through her role as a mother to Memphis, who will grow up surrounded by the stories and memories of the incredible woman she was.

As the Callahan community gathers in her honor, Valerie will be remembered not only for the joy she shared but also for the strength, compassion, and inspiration she embodied.
