Zavion Larue Dorsey,Wayne Douglas Doerr Obituary, Death; – Two of the three men who were killed during an apparent attempted robbery on Sunday in Carmichael have been identified.

Zavion Larue Dorsey, aged 22, and Wayne Douglas Doerr, aged 24, were discovered shot to death around 7 a.m. within the Lance Apartments complex located on El Camino Avenue, as reported by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

A third man, also in his 20s, was shot and killed as well, but he had not been identified by late Tuesday morning.

An 18-year-old resident of the apartment, Jaylen Davis, was detained at the scene, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

According to deputies, one man was allegedly being robbed by two others, during which one of the armed robbers shot and killed him. Subsequently, Davis allegedly discharged a firearm, resulting in the deaths of both armed robbers, as stated by the sheriff’s office.

ABC10 has contacted deputies to clarify the roles of Dorsey and Doerr in this incident and will update the article once that information is available.

A witness independently confirmed the sequence of events surrounding the shooting, and detectives indicated that the circumstances did not warrant a murder charge against Davis after consulting with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.

All individuals who were killed were found with firearms beside them; the sheriff’s office reported that all four men were allegedly in illegal possession of handguns due to previous felony convictions.

Deputies have arrested Davis on suspicion of illegal firearm possession. He was reportedly wearing an ankle monitor and was on probation at the time.

He is facing charges for felony firearm possession and probation violation, which renders him ineligible for bail, as indicated by records from the Sacramento County Main Jail. He is anticipated to appear in Sacramento County Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon.
