It is with hearts weighed down by grief and love that we announce the passing of Carsen Philip Perl, age 21, of Oakwood, Ohio. Carsen was taken from us far too soon in a fatal accident, leaving behind a family and community who will forever feel the depth of his absence. Born on November 21, 2003, to Jennifer (Pessefall) and the late Philip Perl, Carsen grew up surrounded by the love of his family, learning from an early age the values of loyalty, hard work, and kindness.
A proud graduate of Paulding High School, Carsen was known for his determination and perseverance, qualities that carried him into his chosen career. He worked as an electrician at Alliance Automation, where he quickly earned respect for his strong work ethic, skill, and reliability. Carsen took great pride in his craft, approaching each task with focus and dedication, but also with the easygoing nature and sense of humor that made him beloved by coworkers and friends alike.
Outside of his professional life, Carsen’s true passions shone brightest. He was happiest outdoors, whether casting a fishing line, patiently waiting on a deer stand, or simply enjoying the beauty and quiet of nature. His adventurous spirit was matched by his love of working with his hands. Down at the shop, Carsen spent countless hours tinkering with cars, joking with his Grandpa Jim, teasing his Uncle Chris, and making playful bets with his cousin Noah. These moments, filled with laughter and good-natured rivalry, created bonds and memories that his family will forever treasure.
At the center of Carsen’s world were those he loved. He shared a special and devoted relationship with his girlfriend, Asia, and together they built memories filled with joy, companionship, and dreams of the future. Carsen’s loyal four-legged companion, Milo, was never far from his side, a constant source of comfort and friendship. To his family, Carsen was a son, a twin brother, a nephew, a cousin, and an uncle—roles he embraced with love and sincerity. He carried within him both the warmth of his mother, Jennifer, and the spirit of his late father, Philip, whose memory he honored every day.
Carsen is survived by his loving mother, Jennifer; his brothers, Logan and Mike Harris; and his cherished twin sister, Yaya (Alivia). He will be forever remembered by his grandparents, Jim and Susie Pessefall; his uncle Chris (Sandra) Pessefall; uncle Dave Perl; aunt Lindsey (Korrey) Kemp; aunt Marsha Perl; cousins Daviah (Blake) Pessefall-Dobbeleare, Noah and Eli Pessefall, Maddison (Joe) Thomas-Pessefall, Jacobe Carpenter, and Matt (Robbyn) Hodge; little cousins Hutson and Millie; nieces Malia and Willow; his girlfriend, Asia; and his beloved dog, Milo.
He now joins in eternal rest his father, Phil Perl; his uncle, Rich Perl; his baby cousin, Creed Thomas; and his great-grandmother, Rae, who preceded him in death.
Funeral services honoring Carsen’s life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME in Oakwood, with Pastor Bud Larimore officiating. Burial will follow at Sherman Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 5, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Carsen’s passing leaves an unfillable void, yet his memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His laughter, his generosity, and his love for family will remain as lasting reminders of a life that, though far too short, was lived with purpose, joy, and deep connection.
