Christopher Marx Obituary, Death; Man killed in Little Cottonwood Canyon plane crash identified

Christopher Marx Obituary, Death;- Investigators have disclosed the identities of the two individuals who were aboard a small aircraft that crashed on Sunday afternoon in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

One of the individuals, identified as Christopher Marx, aged 55, was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday. The other individual, Alex Dulude, aged 40, is currently in critical condition at the University of Utah Hospital; he was transported there by medical helicopter on Sunday.

No further details regarding either man were made available on Tuesday. The aircraft went down in the vicinity of Albion Basin, approximately one mile east of the town of Alta, at around 5:21 p.m. on Sunday.

Individuals enjoying recreational activities in the area responded to the crash site, alongside marshals from Alta and crews from the United Fire Authority.

Two federal entities, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, are conducting an investigation into the crash and are anticipated to conclude their examination at the site later on Tuesday, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Once their investigation is complete, the area will be reopened to the public, as stated by the sheriff’s office.
