Kristen Morris Obituary, Death; – The coroner’s office in Morgan County disclosed on Tuesday the identity of a woman who perished over the holiday weekend following a collision between two single-engine planes. The devastating crash occurred late Sunday morning at a municipal airport located on Colorado’s Eastern Plains. Additionally, three other individuals sustained injuries.

The incident transpired as one aircraft was preparing to land at the northern end of the runway of the Fort Morgan Municipal Airport.

Kristen Morris, aged 35 and a resident of Denver, was the pilot of one of the aircraft involved in the incident. Another individual was aboard the plane she was piloting and required hospitalization due to injuries sustained. Two occupants of the other aircraft received treatment at the scene for minor injuries. The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office has not yet disclosed the identities of those injured.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are collaborating with Morgan County officials to investigate the cause of the collision.

Following the crash and subsequent fire, witnesses rushed to assist those trapped inside the planes. The sheriff’s office expressed gratitude to the witnesses for their attempts to extinguish the fire and aid the passengers. They also issued a statement after confirming the fatality in the crash, stating, “We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim in this tragic event.”
