DADE CITY, Fla. — The Pasco County community is reeling after a violent triple shooting left two men dead and another injured Sunday night in the Blanton Road area. Authorities confirmed that 33-year-old Miguel Angel Hernandez has been arrested and charged with premeditated murder in connection with the tragedy.
According to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, the shooting unfolded around 9:30 p.m. when Hernandez allegedly opened fire on three adult men during a confrontation. Two of the victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while a third was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he continues to receive treatment.
Investigators believe the violence stemmed from an earlier argument between the suspect and the victims that escalated into deadly gunfire. While the motive remains under review, detectives are working to piece together the chain of events and collect physical evidence, including witness statements.
Sheriff’s deputies said Hernandez was swiftly taken into custody following the incident. Though his booking photo and additional details have not yet been released, the arrest marks a critical step in the effort to deliver justice for the victims and their grieving families.
“This was a senseless act of violence that has shaken the community,” one neighbor shared. “We just want answers and hope for peace for the families who are hurting.”
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office has assured residents that there is no ongoing threat to public safety, as the suspect is in custody. Still, they continue to urge anyone with additional information to reach out to investigators to assist in building a full picture of what happened.
As the investigation unfolds, the community mourns the devastating loss of life and rallies in support of the victims’ loved ones, who now face an unimaginable tragedy.
