Norene Jones,Catherine Gray Obituary, Death; – Authorities disclosed the names of three individuals who lost their lives in a tragic wrong-way accident on I-15 in St. George.
According to officials from the Utah Highway Patrol, three individuals were killed and two others sustained injuries in a head-on collision involving a wrong-way driver on Sunday.
On Tuesday, UHP officials revealed the identities of the deceased victims. Norene Jones, 89, from St. George, was identified as the driver who mistakenly entered I-15 at Exit 5, heading in the wrong direction. The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash was identified as Catherine Gray, 68, from Washington City. The passenger in the second vehicle was identified as Jeffry Alan Gray, 68, also from Washington City.
Initially, UHP officials reported that a woman in her 90s had entered I-15, driving southbound in the northbound lanes, resulting in a head-on collision with a Toyota carrying four occupants.
The two survivors from the Toyota, described as females in their late teens to early 20s, were transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Officials have not provided any updates regarding their conditions.
