DENTON, Texas — Denton High School is mourning the loss of one of its student-athletes after officials confirmed the death of senior football player Tro’Mario Allen Jr. earlier this week.
The school’s football program shared the heartbreaking news Tuesday on social media, remembering Allen as “a kid full of energy, always smiling, and loved by so many.” The program extended its thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
Allen, a senior, played cornerback for the Broncos. His passing has left a deep impact on both his teammates and the wider school community.
In a statement, Denton ISD expressed profound sadness, noting that while details surrounding his death will not be released out of respect for the family’s privacy, resources have been made available to help students and staff cope with the tragedy. Counseling professionals have been on campus to provide support for grieving students, with parental consent.
“The loss of a student is heartbreaking for a school community,” the district said. “We ask that the community keep the student’s loved ones, friends, and the Bronco family in their thoughts during this very difficult time.”
