The Plainfield and Osgood communities are mourning the loss of Jeremy Allen Ogden, age 41, who passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and love for family. Born on January 3, 1984, in Dearborn County, Indiana, Jeremy was the cherished son of Gregg and Monica (Vankirk) Ogden. From childhood to his final days, he was known for his joyful spirit, dedication to others, and deep connection to his small-town roots.

A Life of Service and Passion

Jeremy grew up in Osgood, remembered fondly as the smiling boy riding his bike alongside his parents. A natural athlete, he loved basketball and baseball, playing with energy and pride. After graduating from Jac-Cen-Del High School, Jeremy attended Indiana University, later earning a master’s degree in education.

He dedicated years to teaching mathematics, working with students of all levels, including those with special needs. His commitment to education led him to become Principal of Bell Intermediate Academy in Martinsville, where he impacted countless young lives. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Jeremy transitioned into a new career, working as a Territory Sales Manager for Koch Air in Indianapolis.

Family Above All

While his professional career was meaningful, Jeremy’s greatest joy came from his role as a father. He is remembered as a devoted dad to Hallee, Heath, and Hanlee Ogden, and a loving stepfather to Raelyn Hayes. He checked grades daily, encouraged his children’s growth, and made sure they always knew they were his top priority.

Jeremy also cherished his extended family, often calling his mom, Monica, for recipes or advice, and enjoying heartfelt talks with his dad, Gregg. His infectious laugh, warm heart, and ability to make others feel valued will never be forgotten.
