Alexandria Francine Baney Obituary, Death; – The Allen County Coroner’s office has identified the woman who was killed in a crash on Wednesday after fleeing from police.

The coroner has confirmed the woman was 31-year-old Alexandria Francine Baney. In the press release from the coroner, her cause of death is multiple blunt impact injuries due to a motor vehicle crash, and her manner of death is an accident.

Her death follows a crash on Wednesday morning, when police began pursuing a reported stolen SUV. The driver started to flee from police, driving erratically and eventually crashing into a group of trees near Lake Avenue and Wyss Road.

Baney was pinned in the car from the crash and had to be removed by the Fort Wayne Fire Department. She was then taken to a nearby hospital, where she died.

This fatal crash marks the 31st traffic death for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2025.
