The film and television communities in Atlanta, Georgia, and Jefferson County, Tennessee, are grieving the devastating loss of Amy Blanc Lacy, a respected script supervisor, mentor, and loving mother, who tragically died following a car accident on September 1, 2025.
She was traveling with her two sons, Adrian and Oliver, when another vehicle collided with them at high speed. While her boys suffered only minor injuries and have since been released from the hospital, Amy sustained catastrophic brain and spinal injuries that ultimately proved fatal.
Amy’s passing is an immeasurable loss to her family, friends, colleagues, and the countless people whose lives she touched.
A Life of Passion and Dedication
Amy’s journey into film and storytelling reflected both her creativity and determination. She pursued advanced studies at the Maharishi International University, where she earned an MFA in David Lynch Screenwriting and Meditation, sharpening her ability to blend art with meaning. She also studied Editing at UCLA and specialized in Script Supervising, skills that earned her a reputation for excellence within the industry.
Her work as a script supervisor and proud member of IATSE Local 161 was defined by her meticulous attention to detail, her unwavering professionalism, and her spirit of collaboration. Colleagues recall her as someone who elevated every project she worked on, often serving as both a technical anchor and a compassionate friend on set.
A Loving Mother and Generous Spirit
While Amy loved her career, her greatest joy in life came from being a mother to Adrian and Oliver. She was deeply devoted to her sons, nurturing their creativity and resilience, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments. Those close to her say Amy approached motherhood with the same compassion, humor, and boundless love that she extended to all.
Her friends and family also remember her as a woman with an indomitable spirit—one who brought light, laughter, and kindness wherever she went. She had an unshakable love for animals, nature, and all living things, with the humorous exception of her dislike for ticks. Her warmth drew people in, and her generosity left a lasting mark on everyone she encountered.
A Final Act of Selflessness
Even in death, Amy’s compassion continues to touch lives. As an organ donor, her choice has given more than 46 individuals the priceless gift of life. Through this final act of generosity, her legacy of giving will endure for generations.
After days on life support, her family made the heartbreaking decision to honor her wishes and remove medical interventions on September 5, 2025. Surrounded by loved ones, Amy passed peacefully, leaving behind memories of love, laughter, and grace.
Honoring Amy’s Legacy
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, from 2–5 p.m. at her Atlanta home, offering family, friends, and colleagues a chance to share stories and honor her memory. A private green burial with her family will take place on Sunday, September 7. Future gatherings will also be arranged to celebrate her remarkable life and legacy.
The family has expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of support, prayers, and kindness they have received during this difficult time.
Amy’s life was guided by two mottos: “Always Be Loving. Always Be Laughing.” She embodied both, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, joy, and inspiration. Her spirit will continue to live on in her children, her work, and the many lives she touched.
Rest in peace, Amy Blanc Lacy. You are deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
