Seneca Falls, N.Y. — A heavy law enforcement presence descended on Seneca County Friday morning after reports of multiple people being shot at the Hampton Inn on Balsey Road in Waterloo.
Authorities said first responders from three counties staged at the Walmart in Seneca Falls as the situation unfolded. Police, fire, and EMS vehicles filled the parking lot as officers coordinated a large-scale response.
The incident was reported early in the morning at the Hampton Inn, where police confirmed that multiple people were shot. Details about the number of victims or their conditions have not yet been released.
As a precaution, the Seneca Falls Central School District placed all schools on a two-hour delay shortly after the emergency response began. Officials emphasized that the delay was out of caution while law enforcement secured the area.
Motorists have been urged to avoid Balsey Road and the surrounding area while police remain on scene.
At this time, no further information has been made available about possible suspects or the circumstances leading to the shooting. Authorities are expected to provide updates later today as the investigation continues.
