With heavy hearts and cherished memories, the family of Ashton Scott Meyer, age 23, announces his passing on September 3, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on December 20, 2001, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, Ashton was the beloved son of Travis Meyer and Susan Crow, and he brought joy, laughter, and light to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
From the very beginning, Ashton had a presence that could not be ignored. His piercing blue eyes, golden blonde hair, and infectious smile could brighten the darkest day, and his personality was as vibrant as it was genuine. A true original, Ashton was a lovable teddy bear of a man — kind, loyal, and full of life.
He never met a stranger, and those who knew him carried his memory with them forever. His playful teasing, especially directed at his brother Crosby, and the unmistakable sound of his footsteps — affectionately called his “Fred Flintstone feet” — are memories that will never fade.
Ashton’s adventurous spirit and love for excitement defined much of his life. Known for his lead foot and passion for speed, he thrived on adrenaline, whether racing down the road, engaging in a friendly soccer match, or enjoying his favorite video games. He had an appetite for life and for food — particularly when paired with a cold Dr. Pepper, his favorite treat.
Affectionately nicknamed “Tank”, Ashton was strong, reliable, and steadfast in his love for those around him. His heart was as big as the Oklahoma sky, and he carried that love into his sports families — Bixby football and soccer — where he found joy, camaraderie, and lifelong friendships.
Ashton’s love extended beyond people to his cherished feline companions, Remi and Cleo, who were inseparable from his side. He valued simple pleasures, genuine connections, and laughter above all. Those who met him knew they had encountered someone special — a person whose loyalty, humor, and warmth left an indelible mark.
Ashton was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Betty and Kenneth Collard, and his paternal grandmother, Delores Meyer. He is survived by his father, Travis Meyer and wife Rose Meyer; his mother, Susan Crow and husband Mark Crow; siblings Crosby Meyer, Leah Meyer, and Anna Mills and husband Michael; nieces and nephew Hadley Mills, London Meyer, and Hesston Mills; his grandfather Gerhart Meyer; uncle Shawn Meyer and wife Rhonda; and a large extended family of step-siblings who loved him deeply: Jakob, Lukas, and Kaleb Gartzke, Chris Crow, Evangelyn Charry, Andrew Crow, Joseph Crow, and Tori Abel.
Though Ashton’s life was tragically short, the impact of his laughter, love, and light-hearted spirit will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. His ability to lift others, to make ordinary moments extraordinary, and to live with authenticity and joy will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Ashton’s life will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at New Beginnings in Bixby, Oklahoma, with his stepfather Mark Crow officiating. The service is an opportunity for friends, family, and community members to honor a life well-lived and a young man who left a lasting legacy of love and laughter.
