With profound sorrow, the family of Zachary Grichenko, a beloved son from West Warwick, Rhode Island, announces his untimely passing. Zachary, who lived in Indian Land, South Carolina, was the cherished child of Alex Grichenko and leaves behind an enduring legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Zachary attended Olympic High School – Math, Engineering, and Technology Program and later York Comprehensive High School, where he was known as a bright and compassionate young man.
He pursued a career as a Mechanical Technician at Infiniti of Charlotte, bringing dedication and skill to every role he undertook. Beyond his professional achievements, Zachary’s warmth, humor, and gentle spirit made a lasting impression on all who knew him.
In a heartfelt tribute, his parent wrote:
“There are no words strong enough to carry the weight of what I feel right now. Two days ago, you left this world, and I have been left searching through memories, love, and questions that have no answers. I want you to know that you are, and always will be, deeply loved. From the moment I first held you, to every laugh we shared, you brought light into my life. Your presence was a gift, and nothing—not even death—can take that away.”
Zachary faced challenges that his family wished they could have eased, and his loss serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of awareness, compassion, and vigilance in addressing mental health and safety in today’s world.
In response to his passing, his family has chosen to transform their grief into meaningful action. They are committed to raising awareness about the dangers of scams and exploitation, ensuring that no other family suffers the pain Zachary endured. In his memory, they seek to protect the vulnerable and spread light where darkness seeks to hide, embodying Zachary’s spirit through courage, hope, and love.
“I lost my beloved son Zachary because of the evil of scammers who prey on the vulnerable. His life mattered, and his story will not be forgotten. In Zachary’s name, I will honor his memory by standing for truth and protecting others.”
Zachary’s family draws comfort from faith and scripture, holding onto the hope of eventual reunion and peace:
“Though my heart is broken, I cling to the hope that one day, in the presence of God, I will see you again—whole, at peace, and free from the weight you carried here.”
He will be remembered as a loving son, a bright light in the lives of friends and family, and a young man whose legacy of courage and compassion will endure. Zachary Grichenko’s memory is a call to honor the preciousness of life, to fight injustice, and to embrace love, even in the midst of tragedy.
