The Long Beach community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Noah Lara, a bright and loving 7-year-old boy whose life was tragically cut short following a drowning accident. Noah’s passing has left his family, friends, and teammates deeply devastated, yet his memory continues to live on as a reminder of love, resilience, and selflessness.
Born with a playful spirit and a heart full of kindness, Noah was the son of Ricardo Lara. He grew up surrounded by love, alongside his siblings, Emma (13) and Rick (11). Though his years were far too few, Noah’s impact was profound.
He was a boy who adored baseball, superheroes, and laughter-filled days with his family. His favorites, Captain America and Spiderman, represented courage and strength—but Noah himself became a real-life hero in the truest sense. Through the donation of his heart and both lungs, Noah gave the precious gift of life to three people, leaving a legacy far greater than his young age.
Noah’s love for baseball was evident to everyone who knew him. Wearing his #33 jersey, he was a proud and cherished member of the ELB and LAYB baseball families. Coaches and teammates describe him as a player who lit up the field with joy and determination.
Whether practicing with friends or stepping up to the plate, Noah’s enthusiasm for the game was contagious. His league family has paid tribute with heartfelt words: “Rest in peace, Noah, may you hit home runs in heaven.”
In the wake of his passing, the baseball community has united to honor Noah’s memory. Vigils, prayer circles, and candlelight ceremonies have been organized, including a gathering on the Pinto field, where flowers, candles, and cards were placed in remembrance.
Coaches have also planned the release of a tribute dry-fit tee this fall season, featuring Noah’s “33 Angel Wings,” as a lasting symbol of his spirit on and off the field. His presence will forever remain part of the ballpark he loved so much.
The loss comes at an especially difficult time for the Lara family. Just months earlier, in July 2024, Noah’s mother passed away, leaving Ricardo as a single father to Emma, Rick, and Noah. Now, with Noah’s passing, the family is enduring unimaginable grief. Friends, neighbors, and fellow parents have stepped forward to provide comfort and support.
Fundraisers have been launched to help ease the financial strain of funeral expenses and ongoing care for the children. The outpouring of generosity—from heartfelt donations to shared prayers—shows how deeply Noah was loved and how strongly the community is standing with the Lara family during this devastating time.
Noah will always be remembered for his bright smile, his playful energy, and his ability to bring joy to those around him. Though only 7, he showed wisdom and bravery beyond his years. His final gift of organ donation reflects his incredible spirit, ensuring that his legacy of love and kindness continues through the lives he saved.
To his father, Ricardo, and siblings, Emma and Rick, Noah was not only a son and brother, but also a best friend, a teammate, and an everyday source of happiness. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will live on through the stories shared, the baseball games played in his honor, and the lives touched by his generosity.
Rest in peace, Noah. You were and always will be a hero. May your angel wings carry you high, and may your spirit forever guide those who loved you.
