HOUSTON, TX – The Hardy Toll Road southbound near Rankin Road was shut down Monday following a serious two-vehicle crash that left one driver in critical condition.

Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office, along with fire and EMS crews, responded to the scene in the 17951 block of Hardy Toll Road. Emergency responders performed CPR on one of the drivers, who required immediate life-saving care.

Authorities confirmed that the second driver involved reported no injuries.

All southbound lanes were closed as first responders worked the scene, leading officials to urge drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the roadway reopens.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
