eter F Olson,Patricia A Olson Obituary, Death; – Two individuals from Apple Valley have lost their lives, and a suspected intoxicated driver is in custody on charges of criminal vehicular homicide following a collision that occurred Saturday morning in Dakota County.

As reported by the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident involved a 28-year-old man from Kenyon, Minnesota, who was driving a Dodge Ram northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 56 when he struck a GMC Terrain head-on, just north of the Cannon River in Randolph.
While the suspected drunk driver was transported to Regions Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, the occupants of the GMC were declared dead at the scene.

The State Patrol has identified the victims as 68-year-old Peter F. Olson and 49-year-old Patricia A. Olson, both residents of Apple Valley. The crash report indicates that the Olsons were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Records from Dakota County reveal that the 28-year-old driver is currently held at the Hastings jail on two counts of criminal vehicular homicide. The charges are still pending, and he is scheduled to appear in court at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9.
