Tiana Ganswith Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified the woman who was killed early Sunday morning after her SUV veered off State Road 7 in unincorporated Boca Raton, collided with a guardrail, and rolled into a canal.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported that Tiana Ganswith, 49, from Margate, lost her life in the accident, which took place at approximately 1:28 a.m. on September 7, north of Sandalfoot Boulevard.

Investigators indicated that Ganswith was driving a 2017 Kia Sorento northbound when, for reasons that are still being investigated, the vehicle departed from the roadway and rotated in a clockwise direction. The SUV struck the metal guardrail before sliding off and overturning into a canal located on the east side of State Road 7.

A passenger, identified as Gerard Esper, 48, from Hollywood, was able to escape from the sinking vehicle and call for assistance. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to West Boca Medical Center.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue teams extricated Ganswith and transported her to Boca Raton Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 2:22 a.m.

The Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the next of kin has been informed. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, although no foul play is suspected.
