Authorities discovered Toraya deceased with multiple gunshot wounds, lying near the exit of an apartment complex, as stated in a news release from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

The police have identified Shaquille Green, who was reportedly in a dating relationship with Toraya, as the suspect in her murder. He was apprehended after responding officers observed him fleeing the scene.

Green, aged 29, faces charges of murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon, as reported by OCPO. He is currently being held without bail at the Ocean County Jail.

Toraya was the elder sister of Naz, who is 26 and has been a six-year veteran in the NBA playing for the Timberwolves. Naz received the 2024-24 NBA Sixth Man of the Year award and ranked fifth in the voting for the same accolade last season.

Throughout his career, Naz has averaged 11.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 20.9 minutes over 406 games.
