Emilia Vinokur Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the woman who was fatally shot in Deerfield Township.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when the woman was shot while inside a moving vehicle, after which she was transported to a nearby fire station.
The suspect, 77-year-old Gerald Finley, faces charges of murder and felonious assault.
While the precise location of the shooting is still uncertain, officials report that Finley drove the woman to Fire Station 57 in Deerfield Township, which is situated less than half a mile from his residence. A first responder at the scene remarked, “We have a patient here admitting he shot his wife.”
Firefighters at the station initiated life-saving measures; however, the victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as 79-year-old Emilia Vinokur. According to the sheriff’s office, Vinokur lived in Deerfield Township with the suspect.
During his initial court appearance on Monday, prosecutor Maxwell Kinman stated that Finley shot the woman due to her health complications and pain.
The sheriff’s office indicated that the couple had no previous history of incidents. In court, prosecutors noted that the couple “had been traveling around the country together.”
Finley is currently held in the Warren County Jail on a bond of $200,000. He has been charged with felonious assault and murder. The investigation is still ongoing,
