It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Amanda Caruso, who left us on September 9, 2025, at the age of 28. Amanda’s life, though far too short, was filled with strength, love, and an inspiring determination to live fully, no matter the challenges she faced.
Amanda is survived by her loving mother, Janice Roback Caruso, and father, Steven Caruso; her devoted siblings, Karli, Leeanna, and Trevor Caruso; her fiancé, Matthew Henning, who was the true love of her life; her future in-laws, Noreen and Michael Henning (recently deceased), and Michael Henning Jr.; her Nana, Stephanie Roback; as well as countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who cherished her deeply.
Despite living with significant health challenges, Amanda’s impact was felt by all who knew her. Diagnosed at a young age with a rare lung disease, Amanda received a life-saving double lung transplant at just 17 months old. This precious gift gave her several years of healthier life, and she never took a single moment for granted. When her health began to decline again, Amanda made the courageous decision to pursue a second lung transplant, demonstrating the same strength and resilience she exhibited throughout her life.
Amanda’s journey was marked by remarkable accomplishments. She graduated from Webster Thomas High School in 2014, and her quest for knowledge never stopped. She went on to earn her esthetician license from Continental School of Beauty, pursued an Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology from Monroe Community College, and most recently became a certified Oncology Data Specialist. Amanda dedicated herself to meaningful work throughout her life, starting with her first job at Bill Gray’s Restaurant at age 15. She later worked at Hand and Stone Spa, Unity Hospital as a surgical coordinator, and most recently as a Cancer Tumor Registry data entry specialist at Rochester Regional Health.
In addition to her career, Amanda was a passionate entrepreneur, running her own successful handmade jewelry business, Tiny Woman Creations, for over two years. Her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly, and her work was loved by many. She also found joy in sharing her life and health journey on social media, touching the hearts of thousands of people with her positivity, strength, and unwavering faith. Amanda’s followers admired her honesty and courage, especially as she documented her experiences awaiting her second lung transplant.
Though Amanda’s life was cut short, her legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched. She was a beacon of light, a true source of joy and love, and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her positivity, humor, and endless generosity left an indelible mark on the world.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 13, from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fpt. Nine Mile Pt. Rd., Webster, NY 14580. In Amanda’s memory, the family requests that donations be made to Donate Life America to support organ donation and awareness, as well as encourage others to sign up as organ donors.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Amanda’s journey continues through the lives of those who were blessed by her presence. She will be forever missed, always remembered, and never forgotten.
