The Caruso and Henning families, together with countless friends and loved ones, are mourning the passing of Amanda Jean Caruso, who died on September 9, 2025, at the young age of 28.

Amanda’s passing followed her brave and selfless decision to undergo a second lung transplant, a testament to her unshakable will to live and her determination to embrace life fully, even in the face of profound medical challenges.

Born and raised in Webster, New York, Amanda was cherished by all who knew her for her kindness, resilience, and radiant spirit. She is survived by her devoted parents, Janice and Steven Caruso, who stood by her side with unwavering love, and her beloved siblings Karli, Leeanna, and Trevor Caruso, who were her lifelong companions, confidants, and cheerleaders. Amanda’s bond with her family was one of the most important cornerstones of her life.

Amanda also leaves behind her fiancé and true love, Matthew Henning, with whom she shared dreams of a future filled with joy, family, and adventure. Their relationship was one built on mutual respect, unwavering support, and deep affection. She was deeply loved by her future in-laws, Noreen and the late Michael Henning, and was embraced as a daughter in spirit and heart.

Amanda’s beloved Nana, Stephanie Roback, along with the entire extended Roback and Caruso families, will hold her memory close, cherishing the countless moments of laughter, warmth, and love that she brought into their lives. Her presence was a source of strength and joy, and her absence will be felt profoundly in every family gathering, every celebration, and every quiet moment of remembrance.

Despite the challenges Amanda faced with her health, she approached life with grace, courage, and optimism. She found strength in her faith, in her family, and in her community. Those who knew Amanda admired her resilience, her unwavering positivity, and her ability to see beauty and joy in everyday life. She was an inspiration not only to those closest to her but also to others who witnessed her strength and determination.

Her family is comforted by the thought that Amanda’s legacy will continue through the lives she touched and the love she shared. To honor her memory, friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, September 13, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fpt. Nine Mile Point Road, Webster, N.Y. 14580.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Donate Life America, an organization that advocates for organ donation and transplantation. Amanda’s life was extended through the generosity of organ donors, and her family hopes that her story inspires others to consider becoming registered donors, offering the same gift of life that Amanda so gratefully received.
