Casey Whitlock,Matthew Jackson Obituary, Death;- Authorities have confirmed the identities of three individuals who lost their lives over the weekend in a devastating six-vehicle crash on the interstate in Central Kentucky.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. in Woodford County, close to mile marker 61, situated between the Midway and East Frankfort exits. According to state police, the collision involved four tractor-trailers and two cars. Two drivers of the tractor-trailers and one occupant of a passenger vehicle were declared dead at the scene, as reported by state police.
The Woodford County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased as Casey Whitlock, 50, from Paris; Matthew Jackson, 43, from Cincinnati; and John McBroon, 39, from Crittenden. Additionally, two other occupants of the passenger vehicle and one tractor-trailer driver sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital, according to state police. The details surrounding the collision remain unclear.
The Versailles Police Department has requested that state police conduct a reconstruction and investigation of the incident. I-64 West was closed for several hours on Friday night, and the interstate did not fully reopen until approximately 12 hours after the crash.
