Luz E Arroyo Obituary, Death; – A woman lost her life after a driver collided with her SUV by crashing a pickup truck into its rear, thereby “pushing” the vehicle into a pole in Fayetteville late Sunday morning, as reported by the police.

This incident — marking the second fatal wreck in Fayetteville within a span of less than 24 hours — was documented just prior to 11:10 a.m. near Morganton Road and Hearthstone Drive, situated just west of Reilly Road in western Fayetteville, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department.

Authorities stated that a man was operating a 2022 Dodge Ram pickup at a “high rate of speed” on Morganton Road, heading towards Ruritan Drive, when he collided with a 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan, which was also traveling westward.

The police indicated that the pickup truck crashed “into the rear of” the Tiguan, effectively “pushing the Volkswagen SUV into a utility pole” and resulting in the death of the driver.

Luz E. Arroyo, aged 64, from Fayetteville, who was behind the wheel of the Volkswagen, has been identified as the victim, according to police reports.

Authorities mentioned that Richard B. Goodyear, aged 41, also from Fayetteville, was driving the pickup truck and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
