Maria Hernandez Obituary, Death;- The Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased woman as Maria Hernandez, aged 66, from San Joaquin.
On Friday morning, a 66-year-old woman from San Joaquin lost her life in a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Belmont Avenue at Siskiyou Avenue in Fresno County, according to authorities.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place at approximately 7:20 a.m. when a 66-year-old man driving a 2019 Dodge Charger eastbound on Belmont attempted to make a left turn directly in front of a westbound 2019 Peterbilt box truck.
The truck collided with the passenger side of the Dodge, causing both vehicles to veer onto the westbound shoulder of Belmont. The woman, who occupied the front passenger seat of the Dodge, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge suffered significant injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the Peterbilt, a 24-year-old man from Fresno, experienced minor injuries and was also taken for evaluation.
According to the CHP, all individuals involved were wearing seatbelts, and there were no indications that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
