Brenna Kulikowski,Damon Thompson Obituary, Death;- The two firefighters from the Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District who tragically lost their lives in an ambulance accident on Sunday night have been named. One of the individuals had just days remaining before celebrating their first anniversary with the department.

Brenna Kulikowski, aged 31, and Damon Thompson, aged 21, were fatally injured in a head-on collision involving their ambulance and another vehicle on State Route 260, situated between Show Low and Heber-Overgaard.

Kulikowski had served with the fire district for three years, while Thompson was merely 15 days away from completing his inaugural year with the department, as stated in a post from the fire district.
“(Brenna) was undoubtedly exceptional, a compassionate individual, and an outstanding paramedic,” Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District Chief Randy Chevalier remarked to AZFamily.com. “Damon’s parents mentioned that he had always aspired to be a firefighter, and he was indeed an excellent firefighter,”

The two were en route back to their Show Low station after departing from a hospital following an interfacility transport.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is currently working to ascertain the identity of the occupant of the other vehicle involved in the incident, which occurred around 10 p.m.

“Head-on collision, severe damage. I have encountered numerous accidents throughout my career, and this one was horrific,” Chevalier stated to AZFamily.

“TMFMD expresses gratitude for the community’s support and love during this challenging time. We would like to extend our appreciation to all partner agencies that have provided assistance to TMFMD during this tragic event, including the Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona,” the department conveyed in a statement.

“The TMFMD wishes to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the occupant involved,” the department expressed.
