MTSU Active Shooter — The Murfreesboro Police Department has confirmed there is no threat to the campus of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) following false reports that circulated on social media Monday.

Authorities said the claims of a possible shooter were investigated and determined to be untrue.

“Students can resume normal activities. Murfreesboro Police, MTSU Police and other law agencies are on campus as a precaution,” the department said in a statement.

University Police also reassured the community, confirming that there is “no shooter” on campus.

Officials urged students and residents to rely on verified updates from law enforcement and university channels, cautioning against the spread of unconfirmed information online.
