Braylen Ezell Obituary, Death; – Family members have confirmed the identity of a teenager who was fatally injured during a stabbing incident at a house party in Cypress early Saturday morning.
Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported that they received a call around 1:30 a.m. regarding an aggravated assault at a residence located on Trinity Star Drive in the Bridgeland neighborhood.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered that two teenagers had sustained stab wounds, one of whom succumbed to his injuries. Family members identified the deceased teenager as Braylen Ezell, 17, according to KPRC 2 News Reporter Corley Peel.
School officials from Cy-Fair ISD confirmed in a letter to parents that he was a student at Langham Creek High School:
The student will be profoundly missed by family, friends, and educators. This is undoubtedly a very sorrowful time for the Langham Creek School community.
“As adults, we recognize the significant emotional toll that follows the passing of a loved one or friend. Children who are experiencing the death of a loved one or friend for the first time may feel frightened or overwhelmed by the situation. They will likely seek your emotional support and guidance.
“To assist you in helping your child navigate this challenging time, we have included a list of resources. The emotional responses of your child may vary depending on their familiarity with this student or any previous experiences with loss. We encourage you to listen to your child and be ready to respond to their inquiries in a straightforward and honest manner.
“Counselors and additional support staff were present on campus today and will continue to be available for students, teachers, and parents.”
The condition and injuries of the second teenager have not been disclosed.
The HCSO stated that investigators are still conducting interviews with witnesses, and no charges have been filed at this moment. However, this situation may evolve based on the findings of the detectives in their ongoing investigation.
