Frank Garcia-Calloway Arrested; – A man who was shot in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco on September 14 succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, as reported by the San Francisco Police Department on Friday.
“Despite the heroic efforts of emergency responders and medical personnel, the victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital,” stated the SFPD.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Golden Gate Avenue and Turk Street at approximately 6:31 p.m. Officers discovered the gunshot victim at the scene and provided immediate medical assistance before the individual was transported to the hospital by ambulance due to life-threatening injuries.
Later that evening, a suspect who matched the description of the alleged shooter was located in Oakland and apprehended by the BART Police Department. This individual was identified as 26-year-old Frank Garcia-Calloway.
“SFPD officers confirmed that the apprehended individual was the suspect in the shooting,” the SFPD reported. “Officers established probable cause to arrest the suspect.”
Garcia-Calloway has been booked into the San Francisco County Jail on charges related to the shooting. The SFPD Homicide Detail is currently collaborating with the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office to file murder charges against Garcia-Calloway.
