Plattsburgh Police Investigate Deadly Two-Vehicle Crash in Downtown Area

The Plattsburgh Police Department is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in downtown Plattsburgh on the evening of September 19.

Authorities say the crash happened around 8:20 p.m. when a 2006 Honda motorcycle, operated by 21-year-old Ronnie Gamble III of Peru, New York, was heading westbound and struck the side of a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling north through an intersection.

Gamble was transported to the University of Vermont Health Network CVPH, where he was later pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts. The 27-year-old driver of the pickup was not hurt and was released after speaking with police and detectives.

Officers secured the scene and kept the area closed into the early morning while working with the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit to gather evidence. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is urged to contact the Plattsburgh Police Department at 518-563-3411.
