Authorities are conducting an investigation into a homicide related to domestic issues following a fatal stabbing of a man and the injury of another individual on Monday in west Fort Worth. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has identified the deceased as 61-year-old Eric Vann Morgan.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the vicinity of the 2800 block of Thorson Lane on Monday, September 29, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims of the stabbing and a suspect present at the scene.
Medical personnel attempted to provide treatment to both victims; however, Morgan succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The second victim was transported to a hospital, and their current condition remains unknown.
Detectives have ascertained that Morgan and the second victim were engaged in a physical altercation. Investigators suspect that Morgan initially inflicted multiple stab wounds on the second victim. During this altercation, the suspect intervened and stabbed Morgan multiple times.
Authorities have stated that Morgan and the suspect are related, and the case is being treated as a domestic homicide. Homicide detectives are in the process of interviewing witnesses and the suspect to ascertain the complete circumstances surrounding the stabbings.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will establish the official manner and cause of Morgan’s death. The identity of the suspect has yet to be disclosed.
