Narado Brinkley Obituary, Death; Coroner identifies man shot, killed while allegedly trying to burglarize home in Decatur

Narado Brinkley Obituary, Death;- A man was shot and killed on Sunday night while allegedly attempting to burglarize a residence in Decatur, and he has now been identified.

Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn confirmed the identity of the man on Tuesday as 46-year-old Narado Brinkley.

Officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 1200 block of 22nd Avenue SW on Sunday at approximately 7:36 p.m.

According to Decatur Police, the 911 caller informed dispatch that they had shot the individual suspected of attempting to break into the home.

Upon arrival, officers found Brinkley inside the house suffering from visible gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division arrived to carry out an investigation.

Police report that the 911 caller, who is also the alleged shooter, has been cooperative with the investigation and has been released without any charges at this time.

The shooting is still under investigation, and police have stated that this case will be forwarded to the Morgan County District Attorney’s Office for grand jury review.
