The Clark County coroner’s office officially identified the deceased motorcyclist on Tuesday. Police reported that speed was a contributing factor in the fatal incident.

Emergency services were dispatched at 7:49 p.m. to the scene located at the 2800 block of Pecos Road, which is situated near Las Vegas Boulevard North. The North Las Vegas Police Department released a statement on Friday regarding the accident.

According to the police department, the motorcycle operator was traveling south on Pecos Road at a rapid pace. The collision occurred when the motorcycle impacted the passenger side of a Honda SUV. The SUV was making a left turn from northbound Pecos Road into a nearby parking area at the time of the crash.

Further investigation by the police indicates that excessive speed was a significant element in this collision. The driver of the Honda SUV was present at the scene and provided information cooperatively. North Las Vegas police are currently examining whether impairment might have also played a role in the accident.
