Police conducted a welfare check at the Kenmore Hills property around midday Monday and were forced entry. Inside the multimillion-dollar Airbnb, Dr. Tiffany Wilkes, 54, and her eight-year-old daughter were discovered deceased. Police investigations suggest the deaths were a murder-suicide.
The tragic incident was prompted by an email sent by Dr. Wilkes’ colleague. The colleague received a pre-scheduled message from Dr. Wilkes that revealed her intentions.
Dr. Tiffany Wilkes was a well-known anaesthetist who worked at several Brisbane hospitals, including the Princess Alexandra hospital.
A statement from Metro South Health expressed their deepest sympathies to those affected. The spokesperson noted that further comments were inappropriate due to the ongoing police investigation.
CCTV footage, obtained by Channel 7, shows Dr. Wilkes removing the bins just one day before the horrifying discovery. The surveillance video captures the woman taking out the bins at the upscale Airbnb property the day prior to the incident.
The mother and daughter were staying at the four-bedroom home. This property has been an Airbnb since at least 2023 and was sold in March for $2.5 million. The listing was priced at nearly $1000 per night with a minimum five-night stay. However, the listing appears to be removed from both Stayz and Airbnb platforms, and the property is no longer listed on Airbnb. The stunning single-level home sits on a 10,117 square meter block and was built in 1994.
