A 15-year-old named Serafina L. O’Connell passed away after being involved in a high-speed confrontation that started in one area and concluded in another. This young passenger, who was inside a sport utility vehicle, was taken by medical staff to a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but unfortunately, she did not survive. Her relatives were made aware of the situation and were at the facility when the event occurred.

The whole scenario started around the middle of the day on September 26 in 2025. It began in a place called Owasso, where police were called to an incident about stealing at a nearby shop. During the response, an officer attempted to catch a person involved, but that individual escaped by driving away, with another person inside the car. This caused the officer to suffer serious harm and required hospital care.

A pursuit immediately followed, with more officers from the Owasso force joining the chase. The people inside the vehicle drove through several towns in Oklahoma, including Collinsville, Oologah, Talala, Nowata, and reached the southern part of Coffeyville before crossing into Kansas. Law enforcement agencies from other regions, like the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, assisted as the chase continued.

According to the police from Owasso, the suspects drove very quickly, faster than 100 miles per hour, especially in areas with no people nearby. The pursuit finally stopped in Coffeyville when the car they were in collided with the one Serafina was in at a traffic light intersection. The car that hit hers turned out of control after the crash. Both of the vehicles involved turned over and left the road.

Reports from the Kansas Highway Patrol stated that everyone involved had injuries. The two people who were driving the suspect vehicle were taken to a hospital, and after they were released, they faced legal action and were taken to a detention center.

Officials are now considering legal charges against the suspects in both Oklahoma and Kansas because of this incident.
