Two elderly residents from Marlin have been identified as the victims of a tragic head-on collision on Highway 6 near Riesel. The 71-year-old Cristopher Woycheshin and his 67-year-old friend Terry Woycheshin were killed in the accident.

According to the Department of Public Safety, emergency services were dispatched after a report was received around noon on Tuesday. The investigating officers discovered that the vehicle containing the two victims was traveling against the flow of northbound traffic.
The investigation revealed that the passenger car collided directly with the front of the semi-trailer truck. Following the impact, the large vehicle turned over and subsequently caught fire, destroying the smaller car completely.
The professional driver of the commercial vehicle suffered only minor injuries during this catastrophic event. Local authorities noted that this tragic intersection incident caused significant delays for several hours as they worked to clear the scene.
Both victims were originally from the Marlin community and were described as being in their respective age groups. Rescue teams responded promptly to the scene, but unfortunately could not save the lives of the two men who were pronounced dead at the location.
