William Getty,Katrina Pennell Obituary, Death;- The Delaware County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identities of the two individuals who lost their lives in the motorcycle accident that occurred on Sunday morning in Ridley Township.

Authorities report that William Getty, aged 26, from Holmes, and Katrina Pennell, aged 28, from Marcus Hook, were fatally injured in the motorcycle crash shortly before 4 a.m. on Sunday.

Investigators from the crash team were dispatched to the location of the incident.
On Monday, Ridley police Capt. James Dougherty and Lt. John Hamill provided a somber evaluation of the situation, speaking candidly:

They indicated that the motorcycle accident followed a night of drinking and reckless behavior on motorcycles.

The collision transpired at 3:49 a.m., involving two Harley-Davidson motorcycles both traveling east on McDade Boulevard.

A second motorcycle was being ridden by Shane Walker, 22, from Folsom, when Getty, with Pennell as his passenger, overtook him at a high speed.

Getty’s motorcycle made contact with the slower motorcycle, resulting in both riders falling; Walker fell immediately, while Getty fell half a block away.

Neither rider was wearing helmets, and Pennell sustained severe head injuries.

Walker incurred minor injuries to his leg. He underwent a field sobriety test and was subsequently charged with driving under the influence.

“It’s a terrible scene,” Hamill remarked. “Two individuals engaging in reckless behavior on motorcycles.”

“This incident was a consequence of alcohol consumption and negligent driving,” Hamill further stated. “They had been out partying all night.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families during this difficult time,” Dougherty expressed.
Police confirmed that Getty and Walker were acquaintances.

GoFundMe campaigns have been initiated to collect funds for the families.

By Monday morning, over 400 individuals had contributed, raising more than $20,000 in a brief period.
Page organizer Madeleine Miller noted that William’s passing will profoundly affect many, particularly his mother, Crystal, stepfather Jeff, and siblings Dontay, Mikayla, and Buffy.

Meanwhile, Andre Gallo remarked that Pennell was a loving and dedicated mother who could brighten any room with her smile and enthusiasm; she treasured every moment spent with her family, especially during their adventures.

Pennell, who according to her Facebook profile, attended Ridley High School, posted this love for her daughter about eight hours before she died:
