Jack Walter Obituary, Death; – The State Police have confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally injured in a hit and run incident on the West Virginia Turnpike.

The victim has been identified as Jack Walter, a 63-year-old resident of Middlesex, North Carolina. According to law enforcement officials, Walter was outside of his vehicle, which was parked on the shoulder of the northbound lanes of I-77, just south of the Mahan exit, last Friday. At around 11:50 a.m., his stationary vehicle was struck by a passing tractor-trailer. Investigators reported that the truck did not stop, resulting in Walter’s immediate death.

Evidence gathered at the scene suggested that the semi-truck was white and likely sustained damage to its right front due to the collision.

The State Police are actively pursuing their investigation and are appealing to the public for assistance in locating the truck and identifying the driver involved in the incident.
