Russell Olson Obituary: It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Russell Olson, 93, of Fairfax, Iowa, who tragically lost his life in a house fire early Sunday morning, October 5, 2025.

Born and raised in Iowa, Russell was a beloved father, grandfather, and neighbor who was deeply rooted in his community. Known for his kindness, steady presence, and genuine care for others, he lived a long and meaningful life surrounded by family and friends who cherished him dearly.

In the early morning hours, multiple emergency crews responded to a fire at Russell’s home on Olson Court in Fairfax. Despite the brave efforts of first responders, Russell was unable to escape the flames. Four others who were in the home at the time survived, with two receiving treatment for smoke inhalation.

Russell’s passing is a heartbreaking loss to all who knew him. He will be remembered for his warm heart, gentle wisdom, and the countless memories shared over the years.

He is survived by his loving family and friends, who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
