Deanna M Simone Obituary, Death;- Virginia State Police are investigating an automobile collision that killed a 52-year-old woman in Carroll County.

Troopers were dispatched to the 4400 block of Elk Horn Rd. Friday morning, September 12, to a report of a crash involving a Chevrolet Trailblazer being driven south on Elk Horn Rd. The driver went off the right side of the road, striking a bridge railing, according to VSP.

The driver, identified as 52-year-old Deanna M. Simone of Woodlawn, sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, where she died.

Simone was not wearing a seatbelt, said Virginia State Police.

The crash remains under investigation; investigators estimate fatigue possibly played a role.
